WE ALL LIVE TOGETHER

01 02 2019 – 27 02 2019

Just as particles interact even when separated by a large distance (this phenomenon is called Quantum Entanglement), so do we act on each other from a distance – both on the shores of San Francisco, or in the forests of Vingio Park. All our worries and joys are alike, the taste of everyday coffee is similar, and it’s all intertwined with a seamless web node.

The works (flags, paintings, etc.) presented at Akvilė Magicdust‘s solo show do not reflect any particular country in the world, but only convey part of our planet, where we all – insects, flowers, animals and different people – live together.

The author’s works intertwine with fiction and reality, nature and wisdom, humor of absurdity, rituals and encouragement to survive this winter. In her paintings and textiles, the bright tropical colors move the viewer into a playful, poetically naive space, where you are encouraged not to take everything too seriously and allow yourself to play and dream.

Akvilė Magicdust (Akvilė Misevičiūtė) is a young artist who graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and, with a Master’s degree, from the Hogeschool Sint-Lukas Brussel. She hold solo exhibitions in Barcelona, Los Angeles, Brussels and Vilnius. Her works are published by the popular online magazine Vice. A year ago the artist won the main ELCAF (East London Comic Arts Festival) and WeTransfer Award.

The exhibition is supported by Lithuanian Culture Ministry, Lithuanian Council for Culture and Lithuanian Artists’ Association.
