Rūta Katiliūtė (b. 1944) is a painter whose work is defined by the dominance of blue, abstraction, and minimalism. Through tonal variation and layering, she creates a sense of boundless space, silence, and light. Her paintings reveal subtle shifts of colour, surface vibration, and stratification, while rejecting figuration, narrative, and defined forms. Her focus lies in creating states rather than images, resulting in meditative, nature-inflected works.
